The 21st edition of Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic raised $1.4 million this year.
The event was held May 30 & 31 at the Riverwind Casino in Norman, Oklahoma. This year it was hosted by Toby's good friend Sammy Hagar, who kicked off the fundraising with a $10,000 donation of his own. The gala raised more than $100,000 in the first two minutes. A live auction, which featured a Toby Keith Limited Edition Military Guitar and a cowboy hat autographed by George Strait, raised $600,000 more. The annual fundraiser generates money for the Toby Keith Foundation, which he started in 2006. Through that organization, Toby opened the OK Kids Korral in 2014. They provide aid to children and families who are receiving medical care for critical illnesses. The Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic was started 21 years ago and has raised $20 million to date.
