Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are part of a star-studded ownership group seeking a WNBA franchise for Nashville. Unfortunately, it won't be happening in the near future.

Former Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam led the group hoping to bring a team to Nashville that would be named the Tennessee Summitt, in honour of late University of Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt. Peyton Manning was also involved in the proposal and former WNBA star Candace Parker was also hoping to be a co-owner of the team. This week, three new WNBA franchises were awarded to Cleveland for 2028, Detroit for 2029 and Philadelphia for 2030.
