Ontario native Josh Ross had to defend himself after making pro-USA comments during a recent show.

The incident took place June 13 while he was performing at the Tailgate N' Tallboys festival in Bloomington, Illinois. In the middle of his set, Josh waved an American flag while telling the crowd, "Fun fact real quick. I'm Canadian. You want to know the best fun fact? I moved to the best f**king country in the world and I love America." He then started a massive "USA" chant before throwing the flag into the crowd. His comments didn't sit too well with some of his Canadian fans. Some responded with "Keep Him" and "You can have him we don't want him." Others accused him of "dissing" his home country and found it "disappointing." As one person wrote, "Canadians supported from the beginning and were proud to have you represent our flag."

After seeing the upset the incident created, Josh took to his own TikTok page to apologize for the upset he caused. "Hey guys, I just wanted to jump on here and address the clip that's been going around from my performance at Tailgate N' Tallboys. I'm sorry to anybody who's offended by what I said. I'm grateful I get to tour all over the world and I feel like I'm always representing Canada no matter where I go." He went on to say that while he was born and raised in Canada and is very proud of where he came from, he has been a Nashville resident for over 5 years now. Josh wants his fans to understand that he considers himself lucky to call both places home and his support for one doesn't diminish his love for the other.
