Sara Evans revealed in a new episode of Cheryl Burke's podcast that she has an unhealthy relationship with food and her body because she is a "people pleaser." The revelation happened when Cheryl asked her how she deals with the opinions that come with fame. "I have an eating disorder," Sara shares. "I'm more scared of being fat then anything in the world, and that's not good. That's not normal." She also struggles with body dysmorphia. Sara says that when she was younger her record label reps would wonder about her losing weight when she had her babies. "So things like that would just get in my head," she admits. "I'm a people pleaser. Like, if I'm skinny and I'm pretty and I did a good show, then I'm loved...and I want to feel loved no matter what."
Carrie Underwood shared on social media that she has a new foal named Chili Dog on her farm. She also gave a shout out to Chili Dog's parents - Jack and Diane. They are also the parents of Little Diddy. Carrie and her husband, Mike Fisher, live on a 400-acre piece of property that features a garden, greenhouse, orchard and more. In addition to the donkeys, she also raises chickens.
George Strait and members of the Ace in the Hole Band are mourning the loss of their former drummer and long time road manager, Tom Foote. "We lost another one of our good friends and a huge part of our musical journey yesterday," George shared in a post on social media. "Tom Foote, our one-time drummer and long-time road manager for around 48 years, suddenly passed away at his home after our rehearsal." George and his band have been rehearsing for his upcoming stadium tour, which starts on May 4th. This news comes just over a month after George and his band suffered two losses on the same day. He posted on his social media accounts on March 20th that his longtime manager, Erv Woolsey, had died. The following day, George shared that his fiddle player, Gene Elders, had also passed away. Tom Foote's cause of death has not been announced.
Zach Bryan was spotted in Omaha, Nebraska helping clean up after tornados came through on April 27th. They damaged at least 150 homes, but thankfully no fatalities have been reported. Zach lived in Omaha for what he describes as "some pretty formidable" years of his life. He and his band just happened to be in the area for some shows when the tornados struck. "The band and I are standing with you guys as we are playing some shows in Omaha," Zach wrote on social media. "I am so sorry to anyone that is having to deal with picking up the pieces of their homes and their lives. Without taking credit from the thousands of people lending a hand who have roots here, we love you so much and we'll do all we can to help."
Carly Pearce's new album, Hummingbird, is arriving one week earlier than expected. The album will now be released on June 7th, two days before her CMA Fest performance at Nissan Stadium. The 14-song project was produced by Carly, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. She also co-wrote 13 of the tracks.
Toby Keith will receive an honorary degree posthumously from the University of Oklahoma during their graduation ceremony on May 11th. One of his last public appearances was celebrating the University of Oklahoma's women's softball team's National Championship.
Kenny Chesney's Sun Goes Down Tour 2024 kicked off in front of a record-setting crowd at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa over the weekend. He played a two-hour set to 60,529 fans. Uncle Kracker, Megan Moroney and Zac Brown Band opened for Kenny. "Nobody sings like No Shoes Nation," he said after the show. "When I hear those voices coming back at us, how much they mean these songs, I feel like I'm home, and home is a really good place to be." The tour is no small endeavor. It has 19 trucks, carrying 8300 folding chairs and a massive 62 yard-wide stage. With 127 touring staff and a team of 85 non-travelling support people.
The Rolling Stones are hitting the road this year for their '24 Hackney Diamonds Tour, and they're taking along three country acts as opening acts. Tyler Childers will open for the Stones at their June 3rd concert in Orlando, Florida. Lainey Wilson will open the show at Soldier Field in Chicago on June 30th and the War & Treaty will open the July 10th show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
