Last week, Jon Pardi had to reschedule three shows on his Mr. Saturday Night Tour because of strep throat. Now, he's had to postpone more shows because of an illness that is affecting his whole family. "Just gonna cut right to the chase...I have to reschedule this weekend," Jon shared in a video message on social media. "Also, I now have COVID. Presley has COVID. Summer's probably got COVID. It's been going around my family and band and crew." That means that three weekends shows are being postponed. Jon told his fans that were planning to attend the concerts to hang onto their tickets.

Another round of performers have been announced for the upcoming CMA Awards. Luke Combs will play his new song "Where the Wild Things Are." Morgan Wallen's performance is being kept as a surprise. He and Hardy will take the stage with Post Malone for a medley of country classics, and will return with a surprise guest later in the show. Kelsea Ballerini, Dan + Shay, Cody Johnson, Ashley McBryde and the War and Treaty have all been added to the list of performers. Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson and longtime Coral Reefer Band member Mac McAnally will join up for a tribute to the late Jimmy Buffett, who died in September. The show will broadcast live on ABC on Wednesday (Nov. 8).
In a new interview with GQ, Chris Stapleton admits that he "got into a drinking contest with myself" and lost before deciding to change his life. He was 23 when he moved to Nashville and was trying to live up to his idea of what a country singer-songwriter was. Now 45, Chris has been sober for several years now. "When you're younger, you feel like you have to do certain things in order to occupy some of these spaces, to make yourself feel like you're legit. You want to feel things. You want to be able to write about things authentically," Chris says. "If somebody working a different kind of job drank themselves to death in the name of being better at that job, it wouldn't make sense to anybody. We wouldn't say, 'Oh he must have been the greatest electrician who ever lived.'" His upcoming album, Higher, includes a track that addresses the thought process that accompanies excessive drinking. The album is set for release on November 10.
Reba McEntire has invited Wynonna Judd to be Team Reba's Mega Mentor during the Knockout Rounds on The Voice. She made the announcement on social media, sharing a video of herself and Wynonna backstage onset. As a Mega Mentor, Wynonna will provide insight and inspiration to Reba's contestants as they head into the next round of competition on The Voice. She will appear on the show Monday (Nov. 6) on NBC.
Ryan Hurd was reportedly just as surprised as country music fans when Maren Morris announced that she was filing for divorce. According to US Weekly a source says that he "wasn't expecting it" and that Maren's decision "seems to have come out of the blue." Ryan has stayed quiet since the news broke. His last post on social media was one defending his wife's decision to leave country music. Maren has asked for joint custody of their son Hayes. In addition to leaving country music behind, Maren is also leaving the Nashville office of her record label and moving to their New York office.
Some of the performers and performances for the 2023 CMA Awards are being released. Chris Stapleton will play his new single "White Horse." Lainey Wilson will sing "Wildflowers Wild Horses," and then Chris Stapleton will return with Carly Pearce for a performance of their duet "We Don't Fight Anymore." Jelly Roll will open the show with his hit song "Need A Favor." He'll return to the stage later in the evening with R&B star K. Michelle for a performance of the Judds "Love Can Build A Bridge." In addition to hosting the show with Peyton Manning, Luke Bryan will sing a medley of some of his biggest hits. Tanya Tucker will celebrate her recent induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame with a performance of "Delta Dawn" alongside Little Big Town. Megan Moroney and Old Dominion will also play their new single "Can't Break Up Now." The CMA Awards will broadcast live November 8 on ABC.
Darius Rucker was very surprised when he was presented with the 2023 CMA Foundation Humanitarian Award during his appearance on the The Kelly Clarkson Show. He was there to talk about his new album Carolyn's Boy, and was sharing some of the lessons his mom taught him on the importance of helping others. Kelly let him know that they had a very special surprise for him and presented him with the Humanitarian Award. It is presented to an individual who has served as a humanitarian through community leadership, financial support, personal volunteerism and advocacy. Since 2010, Darius has supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital with his "Darius and Friends" charity auction, golf tournament and concert, which has raised more than $3.6 million. He also serves as a co-chair on the capital campaign that generated $150 million to help build the new MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital in his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. Darius is also the National Chair for the National Museum of African American Music and an advocate for over 200 charitable causes supporting public education and junior golf programs in South Carolina through the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation.
