Riley Green says that he had no idea what he was getting into when he signed his record contract with Big Machine.
Riley was celebrating his number one single, "There Was This Girl", when he told reporters that he "still doesn't". He built houses before signing with the label and he remembers telling co-writer Erik Dylan that he couldn't wait to go home and relax for a few months after deciding who to sign with. Riley says the Erik told him that he had no idea what he was getting into. He compares it to the line "Nobody told me about this part" in the George Strait song "A Showman's Life". Riley didn't realize he would be flying all over to promote his song, rubbing elbows with famous people at award shows, playing famous stages like the Grand Ole Opry and hearing his song on the radio.
