Chris Stapleton brought some comfort to a teen who was the only survivor of a car crash that took the lives of three of her family members. 19-year-old Alex Moffett was in a vehicle with her grandmother, younger sister and father when a 16-year-old driver fell asleep and hit their car. The family had taken a trip in June to visit their grandmother and had planned to go to Chris Stapleton's show as part of their vacation. Alex has had a long recovery after she suffered a punctured lung and multiple fractures to her pelvis, ribs, arm, wrist and orbital bones. She had to undergo facial reconstruction, elbow replacement and wrist surgery. One of her surgeons was able to get in contact with Chris Stapleton, once they found out the family trip had been mostly about the concert. They told Alex they were trying to FaceTime with him, but they were having problems with the service and would have to call back. "Like a minute later, we got a knock on my door and they just came in," Alex recalls. Chris sang "Traveller" to the teen. It's a song he wrote after the death of his own father. Alex says the visit took place on Father's Day.
