Luke Combs recently matched a $100,000 donation to childhood cancer research after being inspired by a 12-year-old cancer survivor. It all started April 27th at his show at University Park, PA's Beaver Stadium. The day of the show, the young girl named Jocelyn and her parents were approached by Samuel Weidenhofer, a video creator who has gone viral for his random acts of kindness. He told them he was trying to get to a concert but had lost his wallet and was wondering if they had a few dollars to spare. With no hesitation, Jocelyn handed him $10. When Simon asked her why she decided to give up her own money, she said, "because I had childhood cancer and now I love to give back to people." Jocelyn was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 7. After 2 1/2 years of treatment, she finally got to ring the bell and celebrate being cancer free on January 11th, 2022. Now, she raises awareness about childhood cancer by sharing her story and raises money through lemonade stands, hot cocoa stands and many other fundraisers. Her mom shared that Jocelyn has raised "well over $100,000" for cancer research. As a surprise to her, Simon gave Jocelyn and her family tickets to see Luke Combs that night. He also handed her a brand-name LX1 Little Martin guitar with a note on the back telling her that they would also be meeting Luke backstage. Later that night, Luke shared the story about Jocelyn with the audience, telling them that he was so moved and inspired by her story. He announced that he would match the $100,000 she raised and donate it to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Dare to Dream program. At the very end, he dedicated "Fast Car" to Jocelyn. Her mom later revealed in an Instagram post that Samuel had reached out to her after hearing about their story. He organized every detail from the tickets, to the guitar, to the meet and greet. "We told Jocelyn she was flying out to Pennsylvania to be a speaker at a childhood cancer event so it was a complete surprise. We were blown away with every detail and how incredible Luke and his whole team were with Jocelyn and our family," she wrote.
