Luke Combs took to social media on Wednesday to address a lawsuit that was filed on his behalf. It involves a fan who was selling unauthorized homemade Luke Combs merchandise through Amazon. He decided to respond when he saw a news report about Nicol Harness being hit with a lawsuit ordering her to pay Luke $250,000 after reportedly selling 18 tumblers for $20 apiece, totaling $380. Nicol has congestive heart failure and is unable to work a full time job. She said she never meant to harm Luke Combs and pulled the tumbler down. She noticed there was a problem when she was in the hospital and was unable to access the money she earned on Amazon. She later found an email in her spam folder from Luke's legal team saying that she had 21 days to respond. She missed the deadline because she never saw the initial email and was in the hospital. The case was reportedly closed and the judge ordered each defendant to pay $250,000. In his video message, Luke said he was "completely and utterly unaware" of the lawsuit and he was going to do everything in his power to "make this right." "We do have a company that goes after folks, only supposedly large corporations operating internationally that make millions and millions of dollars making counterfeit T-shirts, things of that nature, running illegal businesses," he explained. "And apparently, this woman, Nicol, has somehow gotten wrapped into that, and that makes me absolutely sick to my stomach." Luke has spoken with Nicol. He promised to send her $11,000, which is double the amount that is locked up in her Amazon account, plus he is going to launch a tumbler in his official store and share the money with Nicol and her family. Luke also revealed that he has invited Nicol and her family to a show so that he can give her a hug and "say sorry in person."
