It's been 14 years since Jon Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles took "Who Says You Can't Go Home" to the top of the charts, and now they have reunited for a new single "Do What You Can".
Jon wrote the song after being inspired by an Instagram photo caption reading, "If you can't do what you do...do what you can." He says the song came quickly and talks of closed borders, schools and businesses, cancelled proms and graduations and the loneliness of quarantine, but also of loved ones connecting despite social distancing, doctors, nurses, truckers and grocery store clerks who have become heroes. The video shows an empty New York City, highlighting special moments of connection as Jon and Jennifer wander the streets and sing. A note at the end says the song "is dedicated to the everyday heroes fighting to rise above this pandemic."
