About this Event
Tim Hicks, the platinum selling entertainer, is a “true star on the Canadian country music scene” (GoBe Weekly), “proving he knows how to tailor his songs to his ever-expanding audience” and commemorating his wide-open sound as one of the defining influences on today’s country music scene. Defining a genre with his sure-footed everyman approach, Hicks is set for the digital release of Wreck This, a six-song EP featuring the Top 5 single “No Truck Song”. This is Hicks’ follow up to the Number 1 chart-topper “What A Song Should Do” that join classics such as “Get By”, “Stronger Beer” , “Here Comes The Thunder” , “Stompin’ Ground” , “Loud” and many more that have made Tim Hicks one of country’s premiere all round artists. Building from local acclaim to a nationally recognized name, Hicks has cemented his reputation as an elite chart-topping act since making his country label debut in 2013. The platinum selling entertainer’s catalogue of highly praised releases including: “Throw Down”, “5:01”, “5:01+”, “Shake These Walls” and most recently, 2018’s “New Tattoo”, have earned the four-time JUNO Award nominee and CCMA Award winner, two Platinum- selling singles, 7 Gold singles, one Gold album and 13 Top Ten radio hits – all with his long-time label Open Road Recordings, in addition to multiple sold-out headlining dates and back to back national tours.
Singer-songwriter Jessica Mitchell is, at heart, a storyteller – an open book, inspired by the raw honesty and storytelling nature of the genre. Mitchell’s much anticipated debut album Heart of Glass, was released in 2018 to much critical acclaim, and inclusion on Hello Magazine’s Most Beautiful Issue. She has spent the last decade travelling between Toronto and Nashville, focusing on writing new music and crafting her richly unique sound, culminating in a raw, relatable record that embodies powerful and soulful melodies and lyrical brilliance. Mitchell has toured with the likes of Kiefer Sutherland, Terri Clark, Johnny Reid, Bonnie Raitt, and was asked to perform at the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame to honour Neil Young. Her latest single, a heartfelt impactful duet, “Somebody Gonna Get Hurt” featuring Tim Hicks, was released in June 2019. Mitchell continues to make her mark as a renowned singer-songwriter, and recently co-wrote “The Chase” off Celine Dion’s album, Courage, which debuted #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Mitchell’s acclaimed single “Workin’ on Whiskey” was recently cut by country music artist Trisha Yearwood and was released on her latest album Every Girl in August 2019.
