The Hagersville Rocks Music FestivalThe Hagersville Rocks Music FestivalPresented by Empire CommunitiesSaturday July 25, 2020Hagersville ,ON : The Hagersville Rocks Music Festival Committee is proud to announce that Canadian Country Superstar, AARON PRITCHETT will headline this years’ festival.Aaron will be joined by Eric Ethridge on Main Support, followed by Emily Reid, Kalsey Kulyk, Nicole Rayy, Fiddlestix and Small Town Girls. The Festival Committee is also proud to welcome Empire Communities, one of North America’s largest private homebuilders, back for the second year to sponsor Hagersville Rocks. This year Empire will be the title sponsor, helping us to further elevate the Hagersville Rocks experience for concert-goers.“We’ve grown very fond of the city of Hagersville and recognize the strong sense of hometown pride that locals share. At Empire, we are always looking for new ways to give back to the communities we build in and create long-lasting memories for local residents. With a new master-planned community coming soon to Hagersville, we can’t think of a better way to introduce ourselves to residents than to partner with one of the largest country music festivals in Southwestern Ontario,” says Sue MacKay, VP of Marketing at Empire Communities. “When we came on as a sponsor last year and saw the incredible time that attendees had, we wanted to come back in a bigger way while working with Hagersville Rocks. We know we have to do something special and we’re excited for concert-goers to see what we have in store,” added MacKay.AARON PRITCHETTAaron Pritchett retains his title as one of Canada’s most electrifying entertainers, and released his 8th studio album early last year titled “Out On The Town.” With 14 career top ten singles, a gold selling smash hit, a recent string of top 10 songs (including his #1 hit ‘Better When I Do’), and a massive headlining national tour, Pritchett continues to pave his way to indelible legacy.Nationally, Pritchett continues to evolve his profile with a formula of intensity and consistency applied to his social media fan engagements, his tour itinerary, and - his music.“I have been fortunate enough to write & co-write many of my hits, but once we hit the studio, I set my ego aside. The best song wins, whether or not I have a hand in writing it. That’s what my fans deserve and that’s what they’ll always get from me.”With multiple Canadian Country Music Association Award wins, and Juno nominations to his credit, Pritchett has never forgotten where he came from - and neither have folks from his home province. Last year, Pritchett celebrated 5 more British Columbia Country Music Association Awards wins - bringing his career total to 38 awards. A BCCMA record that will likely stand the test of time!“I’m grateful every day to be in this business. I was born to be onstage, and I am so thankful for my fans. They’ve stuck with me through thick and thin, and I’ll keep releasing the best music I can, and kicking ass in my live shows to continue to show my appreciation for their loyalty and love.”Eric EthridgeSelf-made singer songwriter Eric Ethridge is making his way across North America connecting with audiences and living out his wildest dreams. With an undoubtedly unique path, this past year has seen him pivot from a profession as a doctor to full-time country artist. Still practicing when he released his first self-titled EP, which features his breakout single debut, “If You Met Me First,” the ability to express himself creatively was what always gave him the most joy. “To me, a successful life is doing something you love while changing people’s lives for the better while doing it.”Canadian-raised, his EP hit Number One on his country’s overall iTunes chart and was streamed over 3 million times in the first 6 weeks, with no promotion. Subsequently, the lead track earned a coveted spot on SiriusXM’s tastemaker program “On the Horizon” for 24 consecutive weeks.Performing in a cover band while attending chiropractic school went along with his four jobs to help pay for the prestigious degree. His passion and focus shifted to music thanks to a string of rapturously received festival appearances, performing to crowds of 40,000. As his music and fanbase grew (thanks in part to wildly popular YouTube covers), Ethridge landed a performance slot between Thomas Rhett and Florida Georgia Line at the major Canadian country festival, Boots and Hearts when he realized he needed to follow his heart and pursue music full time.“I’m so grateful every day. I cannot wait to continue building this life in music,” he says. “Every day is an opportunity.Emily ReidAccording to Emily Reid, her music can be described in three simple words: “bold, energetic, and indie-fun-cool. And that’s like a hyphen word.” Inspired by the stylings of the Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, and Sara Evans, to name a few, the 27-year-old multi-instrumentalist country singer has come a long way from her humble beginnings in Victoria, B.C. Since her move to Nashville, then Toronto, then Nashville again, Reid has proven that she is keen, determined, and, perhaps most importantly, ready.“I’ve been writing songs ever since I could remember; like 8 or 9 [years old],” excitedly says Reid of her lifelong passion. In 2014, she released her first EP, Drifter, which, in 2015, gave her the push she needed to secure a publishing deal with BMG Nashville. One of the early songs she wrote as a published writer, If I Wanted Wine, was the original hook and catalyst for the passion of Universal Music’s Director of A&R Shannon McNevan (James Barker Band, Reklaws, Jade Eagleson, etc) which ultimately led to her major label deal with Universal in 2018.Reid’s first official single — “Good Time Being A Woman” — is an ode to all the good parts of an often complicated female life. In spite of, gloriously, Reid is fun-loving, unfiltered, and full of spunk. She’s confident, optimistic, and forward-looking. Perhaps, most importantly, she’s ready.Kalsey KulykKalsey Kulyk's effortlessly bright and unmistakable vocal, paired with thought-provoking lyrics and overall messaging, is something most songwriters never master. The Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan native has been honing her craft since the time she could talk. Her first talent show was at three-years old. Her first guitar was at thirteen. Shortly after, she won her first competition. Then everything changed. In high school, Kulyk fell ill and couldn’t seem to get well. It was cancer.Kulyk was diagnosed Hodgkin's Lymphoma and underwent six months of chemotherapy.Once she recovered she pursued her passion for music with even more determination. All of her work did not go unnoticed. Kulyk was invited to participate in both the Canadian Country Music Association’s Discovery Artist program, as well as ole’s “On the Spot” competition. She won both.Winning the ole contest came with both publishing and record deals, and Kulyk found herself back in Nashville to launch her career. “I’m really excited about the music that I have now. I feel it really encompasses everything about me and who I am, and what I want to give to my audience. I grew up around a lot of old school and ‘90’s country music - Lee Ann Womack, John Prine, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Emmylou Harris, Jason Isbell - and I think that can be heard in the overall style of my music.”Kalsey recently married Eric Ethridge.FiddlestixFiddlestix is Ontario’s premier Fiddle Rock Show. Featuring multi award winning extreme electric violinist and Yamaha music endorsee, Steve Bowen.Combining a multitude of styles and genres Fiddlestix combines each style with their unique sound creating what has been dubbed ‘FIDDLE ROCK’ by Y108 Rocks Hamilton.Performing everything from Great Big Sea, Charlie Daniels and their own original music with their rock edge keeps the audience lit!Fiddlestix has experienced everything from heralding the arrival of the Olympic Torch in Toronto with Gord Downie (Tragically Hip) to performing for the Canadian and American Ambassadors in South East Asia.Fiddlestix never fails to mesmerize audiences of all ages.Nicole RayyRayy knows something about drawing inspiration from love and loss. The universal struggle with finding a solid footing in relationships manifests itself within her process, and gathering from her myriad travels and connections – she has created something that is both familial and engaging. Her new album is a stunning collection of songs that traverse borders and (at times) genres. “I’ve always drawn inspiration from many genres of music and it’s nice to feel like I can include those inspirations into the music, but still tell a story like a classic country song,” says Rayy. “That being said, I do hope this record stands out as being uniquely its own. People have always asked me who do I sound like and my answer has always been, I sound like me. This CD is 100 percent me and I hope listeners can enjoy what I have to offer as an artist.Small Town GirlsSmall Town Girls are a country band consisting of five teenage girls from Southern Ontario. The group started off with the VanMaele sisters, Cassie, (now 17) on lead guitar, Haley (now 15) on vocals and rhythm guitar and her twin Hannah on mandolin and backup vocals. In 2017 and 2018, the Girls opened for Brett Kissel, winning two of his #kickitwithkissel contests. Also, in 2018 they were named Country Music Association of Ontario “Artist of the Month” (January), they won the Boothill Jamboree Rising Star contest and the Country Wildfest Emerging Artist contest. But their best victory came by adding their drummer Jillian (16) to the group, making it a full quartet. In early 2019, the girls entered The Next Country Music Star contest, competing against some of the best unsigned professional and amateur country acts in the province. It was here that they met the last member of their group, 15 year-old Delaney, their bass player. She joined the group and they made it to the Finals, beating out over 30 other acts. The Girls are currently in the studio, to record tracks for release to online streaming services and Country radio. Their first collection of professionally produced originals promises to be well worth the wait.A limited number of Early Bird discounted tickets are on sale now at ticketscene.caGeneral Admission $24.50 VIP $49.50Regular priced tickets will go on sale on March 1.GA $47.50.
